The special regime covers students who, cumulatively:

• Are high-performance sportsmen, including, for the purpose of the registration organized by the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth (IPDJ) or those who finished their high-performance career, within three years from that end, provided they have never used this special regime during his career;
• Are qualified with a Portuguese secondary education course or hold a legally equivalent qualification.
